Anyone care to speculate? I'd like to see:
15. Parton
14. Stokes
13. Rona
12. Hepetema
11. Hassell-Collins
10. Jackson
9. Groom
1. Goodrick-Clarke
2. Creevy
3. Chawatama
4. Coleman
5. Simmons
6. Donnell
7. SOB
8. Tuisue
Substitutes
16. Matu'u
17. Gigena
18. Hoskins
19. Nott
20. Rogerson
21. Englefield
22. Atkins
23. Cokanasiga
I'm assuming Loader, Phipps, Naholo, Mafi, Cowan (am I missing anyone else?) remain unavailable. If any of them are fit, it changes things.
Rogerson, for me, has been fading in the last couple of months, and it's time for SOB to tear up trees from minute one. Hepetema's physicality is needed in midfield.
A note on leadership - we have lots of 'physical leaders' like Cowan, Creevy, Coleman, SOB and more who always drive the intensity, but we don't have any 'emotional leaders' to guide us out of tight spots, communicate with the referees, make cool decisions under pressure etc.
I was hoping to see more of it from Simmons, but it doesn't seem to be his nature. Paddy is composed, but it's more individual than in way that is contagious and influences the team. Rogerson sometimes looks like being the man in a 'strong, silent' kind of way, but is equally prone to letting control slip. Cowan is probably the most able, but the full throttle way he plays isn't always conducive to playing the cool head with the ref.
Anyway, another rambling pontification, but the point is, it will be a nervy game, and it would therefore be a fantastic time for one or two of the seasoned pros to step up and guide us to the win.
It'll be tight, but really, we should be pulling through. Wasps are, unfortunately, beleaguered by injury. It's time to arrest our slide. If we do, I'm sure we won't make it easy for ourselves.
