Thanks yet again, Major. Just one comment about the Newcastle try which you describe as "fluky". It came directly from a very simple turnover - whether Aaron should have held on to the ball, or whether we were slow in support, either way they were a lot sharper than we were.

Spencer was binned for cynical foul play. He was involved in the tackle on RDP, and he ripped the ball from RDP whilst off his feet, and without clear release after the tackle. This immediately after a scrum penalty that Sale chose to take another scrum at.

"Flukey" in that the ball bounced up nicely into his arms. On another day it might have shot off out of reach from the bounce.

OK. I thought I saw the ball disappear into the crowd, so assumed it was for that.

Whatever else, remember that: top of the league.

I think you're thinking what I'm thinking. Top of the league despite some mediocre (too strong?) performances. Combined with some luck from the results of other teams.

I would love to see a stronger, more consistent performance. One of the things about supporting Sale is that we rarely get a start to finish, dominant performance. I was hoping for that this season.

We're currently a 'Good' team, having been solid (enough) in 5 games in beating the bottom 5 in the league. Two away wins at Leicester and Bristol is Good. I'm not complaining. Can we do a Leicester and just be 'Good' consistently and win the league without being Great?

We've now got to show what we can do against 2, 4 and 5, to see if we are just fighting for top-4/semis again, or trying to win the whole thing...

I think the tiring squad is a concern, and a big decision on Europe - go for it, risk being disappointed/demoralised with more injuries and tiredness in the first team, or write it off and keep everything for the league? I normally don;t like us fighting to get into Europe then giving up on it, but this season seems the time to do it with our ridiculous draw.

From a fan point of view, Europe is not important to me (yet). I'd rather Sale won the league.

I suspect from a player point of view, they want to play the best in Europe.

From a financial point of view, who knows? I don't know how much money it earns the club.
