Just thinking what would be our starting backline after our old guard are winding down.
I am assuming we don't make any top line signings and are sticking to/retaining what we have
available.
I am assuming that George Ford, Rob DP, Will Addison, Sam Bedlow, Tom O'F are no longer
first choice starters ( possibly not even with us in a playing capacity )
Then we have
9. Raffi, Nye, Gus
10. Tom Curtis, Ollie Davies
11/14 Tom Roebuck, Aron Reed, Alex Wills, Obi Ene
12. Rikki M-W
13. Luke James, Joe Bedlow
15. Joe Carpenter

I don't know if we will get Conor Doherty back.
I don't know enough about up and coming youngsters but perhaps someone can fill
the gaps in my knowledge. Any suggestions about who might come through.
We obviously should buy in some senior players, but that is a bit of a lottery as we
have seen this year.
Obviously looks a bit callow, but enough there to make me reasonably positive if all
fit and firing.

Wardle at 15 maybe. Roberts 13. Motamed 12. Bradshaw wing. Wooton 9.

Obviously I’d bin off Gus but I’m a tad biased.

Don’t think Bedlow will make it.

Louw the South African 12 is gonna come we assume.

Good point though. As I’ve said over last 5 years we need to sign a quality 3/4. Pretty evident looking at that.

I was not aware of the SA centre other than some interest expressed. Did it
go further than that?
It would be nice to get a robust centre with power to spare and good
hands. Someone who is not made of glass.
I really hope that some of the youngsters make the grade and push us forward.
Where are they getting their experience ?

On the Marius Loew situation, are we definitely signing him?
It would seem that against Leinster this year his team mate Rynhardt Jonker would be a better signing.
Jonker was 7/10 and was replaced by Loew who was poorly compared to Jonker.
Seems Loew is a solid player but not got attacking abilities. Loew looks like another player
looking for a retirement home. Is that all we can afford?

Louw is a mistake. He's not playing regularly, he's post 30, he isn't filled with international experience and he is very similar to some of our current centre options.

SA fans describe him as 'solid'...
