If my understanding uis correct, he's an EQP.

He's not, he did want to play for England but his South Africa u20s cap(s?) came at a time where they could lock you to a country as a country's second team:

Yeah, I realised that a few minutes after I'd originally typed it. Once the steam pressure had built up and my brain kicked into gear, I reacled that he and Rohan Janse Van Rensbergs (non) brother were caught out the same way.

I don't disagree with it - every rule needs a limit - but it's the equivalent of getting caught 6" offside on a kick chase.

Fridays yellow card for Si Mac was another one - getting carded for a glancing blow that was so glancing that the TMO had to try 198 different angles to spot something that noone else could see (even the Budgies fans around me were shaking their heads)

Well done to the club for getting a signing like this over the line. I didnt hear a word about this rumour before it happened but buzzing with it. Jacques Vermuelen is one of my favourite players in the league!

Around 2 seasons ago he came back from injury to start for chiefs vs us. I think we were gunning for Sarries at the top of the league at the time. He, almost single handedly, tore us to shreds.

Pleased with this.

Big fan of this signing - he's teak tough and a real competitor. The only real downside is that it likely means a Du Preez is on their way.

Plenty of " good luck to him, was once a good player , now past his best" type of comments.
The old favourite " when they leave Chiefs they never play as well " crack, which
may be true of some of our Exeter "imports".
