I think Carpenter was meant to be back around Christmas time, but not heard anything since the initial injury and we've signed injury cover for him (despite not being a fullback) since then which I think requires a fairly significant amount of time off (couple of months? Though I suppose he'd already be quite a bit through that by now)

We came into this season full well knowing we were short at lock, had ageing journeymen props as back ups, a back row made up of players who have had significant injury issues, a set of scrum halves who all play to different game plans, too many 12s and not enough 13s and light in the back three.

A lot of us said that we were sleepwalking into a poor season. It’s happened now and we are not good enough. Need some serious recruitment for next year.

This season think we now need to do what Borthwick did in his first season with Tigers, and that is blood all our youngsters.

Onasanya, Raymont , Wills, Davies etc, all need to be playing as much as possibly

Yes Hereford - they did say Carpenter back soon, but I wasn't convinced the guy alongside Ashy knew his stuff.
I think Ashton was not so much critical of Sale but willing them to put the errors right and make a game of it for all of us. I feel he is one of the better ex player commentators with a good balance of humour and facts. Certainly better than those who talk too much especially over the ref mike when the refs are advising why they awarded a penalty or reviewing a TMO call. Crazy, what is the point of linking the ref to the broadcast if the viewers can't hear it as being talked over?

After a great performance at Clermont, we follow it up with that tripe at Northampton.
I think its about time serious questions were asked of the coaching team and our DOR.
Our recruitment has been terrible leading to an unbalanced squad that simply can't cope with a few injuries. Lots of teams have injuries but we seem to fold like a pack of cards.
I can't imagine that Simon Orange is very happy watching that given all the money that he has (thankfully) put in.
The body language of the players suggests that this is not a happy squad!

I struggle to see any positives given how catastrophic our play was for the most part. Yes we scored 3 tries, but we were dominated all game by Saints.

Biggest thing for me was the one on one defence. We were missing tackles all over the shop, losing the hit, and leaving huge gaps for Saints to run into. We were very disjointed and looked lost when in attack.

To give some context to our Clermont win - on Saturday Clermont became the first Top 14 team this season to lose to rock bottom Perpignan.

This is a game of "Happy Families" and you can only play with the cards you are dealt.
Unfortunately we have been dealt cards from the St. Clemmed wi'Unger Orphanage.
Lets hope we can swap one or two for the Tripe Monster.

I think the Kemeny try when he ran through all our team, turned around and did it again
counted for most of those missed tackles. Didn't TOf miss a tackle in every try ?

And he was one of our better players on the day! I think it says something about the mindset of the whole team when Tom Curry is repeatedly missing tackles.
