Byron McGuigan starts for Scotland against France. Good indicator that he will be in WC squad. Very pleased for him, hope he does well.

Good to see his Lordship getting game time with the Jocks.
Does that also indicate that Josh Strauss is in with a shout of WC selection ?
Post WC, would it be expecting an (awful) lot for him to be flown back from SA to represent Scotland in the 6N ?

No more than Faf et al flying to SA for the Rugby Championship and easier than flying to away games in Australia, NZ, Argentina.

True, but Faf et al are integral parts of the SA team and a goodly number are a long way from SA. Strauss is more of a rotating squad player and is the only player not based in europe (if my knowledge of the Scottish squad is upto date)
