Flumpty: I watched Kendal women get a draw 7- 7 at Manchester yesterday
Cheers John - did you enjoy the game ?
I can't find a match report, which isn't a major surprise as the bloke that does them lives in Carlisle !
Kendal Senior Colts 24 Rochdale 14
A nice morale boosting win for Kendal Colts, who have been on the wrong side of a lot of close games this season
Not a great game in poor conditions. Manchester scored their try in the first half and Kendal equalised midway through the second half. I went to watch one of our FMOs. Had a chat to your President.
Arthur ? A really nice bloke and lovely to have a chat with.

Kendal 20 Rossendale 35

Magnificent effort in defeat
https://www.kendalrugby.co.uk/news/kend ... 55929.html

Kendal could have/should have won this one, but when they made defensive mistakes, Rossendale mercilessly punished them and took advantage. Flumpty Jnr did get his hands on Denny though, which gave me a smile. I was stood next to Lord Byron for quite a while and it was interesting listening to him organising his team ( Sorry, my mistake. In the match day programme it said that he's currently serving a 2 match ban for punching a player in a recent game.)

Some excellant match day piccies https://www.kendalrugby.co.uk/photos/ke ... e=facebook

There'll be dancing in the streets of Kendal tonight aye!
I was having a couple of pints in the Smithy at Holme village, just over 10 miles away and a couple of people that I've never met before were chatting about the match with me. Quite surreal. Hopefully Flumpty Jnr (aka BigFoot) will be fit enough to play soon, so I'll be able to watch him play, rather than buying him beers pitchside !

Well beaten by a team suoerb in both attack and defence.

The last 3 games are going to be squeaky bum time. Sadly, I don't think that Big Foot will be able to play again this season after picking up an injury in December.

Alnwick 26 v 21 Scunny

Looks like Scunny stayed on the bus for 20 minutes too long.
All Alnwick points scored in first 19 minutes. Scunny not on the board until 27th

Still top Regional 1 North East only by 1 point with a game in hand.

Ledzep, quite right about Force v Moana. What a match and final minute in that heat. It ain't over till it's over !

However, I must mention Friday's clash between Crusaders and Hurricanes as equally exciting. 'Canes off to pulsating start but 'Saders hauled them back in a fearsome second half and Sevu Reece scorched the turf to win comfortably.

Chiefs away to Blues got a well deserved win in a fiercely physical and more than a little spicy encounter.

Chiefs 49 Crusaders 24

A pulsating second half saw Chiefs cut Crusaders' defence to pieces and their bench run riot. Spectacular attacking from the Chiefs that lays down a benchmark for Super Rugby Pacific 25.

'Saders get a bye next week and boy do they need it

ACT Brumbies 42 - Western Force 45

What a game. Having not won in Canberra since 2011 I wasn't expecting much today either. But.....Force got off to a great start with 21 unanswered points inside 20 minutes including a magical interception try by Harry Potter (groan). Brumbies fought back but despite being down to 13 men Force hung on to secure their first ever opening back to back wins in the league. Currently sitting 2nd on the ladder, end the season now hahaha.

BP win for Macclesfield over Exeter Uni yesterday. A bit like the Calcutta Cup game later the better team lost, however a win etc.
Macc finally out of relegation places with seven games left, will be a tight finish to the season.

Western Force 24 - Reds 28

Played in blistering sun the game started with pace and didn't let up 1st half, at 24-21 with five minutes to go I thought I was watching Sale as Force kicked away possession at every opportunity. The eventually came unstuck when with the siren gone, Reds opted to kick for the corner and subsequently scored the winning try. On the balance of play it was probably the right result, but, to grab defeat from the jaws of victory is frustrating.

York 10 v 20 Scunny

Good win at 4th place York, but no bonus point. 2nd place Huddersfield did secure a TBP so now 2 points clear. Not sure how I counted 5 games left last week. Its a 12 team league, played 20 so just 2 left.

Topsy Turvy Super Rugby Pacific as big names flounder to produce a strange looking table.

Crusaders crushed Reds to jump up the table (to 4th)with a 43-19 win. Players returning from injury gave 'Saders the upper hand. A notable mention for Crusaders' ex-Sale player James O'Connor

Also a special mention for Moana who bested the Hurricanes for the first time. The score of 40 - 31 leaves the 'Canes, shockingly, at the very bottom of the table below the Blues.

Strange days.
