I have always been of the opinion that until proven guilty, the accused should not be named.

This topic received considerable coverage at the time. I received a lot of flak from a poster whose handle I don't remember. I doubt they will be around any longer. Their ire was fueled by my note on the dangers of naming the accused and how much it can damage their lives before any offence is proven. Apparently, sympathy for the accuser was the only acceptable reaction.

I had a friend who suffered a very similar situation, his first suicide attempt was successful.
