Arthur Clark ahead of Bamber is, lets say, an interesting decision. I find it a bit odd that Raffi was selected for most England squads whilst he was injured, now he is fit and playing well he's dropped.

Gus Warr called up to replace Jamie Dobie in the Scots Six Nations squad. Not exactly like for like.....
Suggests he's rated more highly in Scotland than on here.
Indeed. The other option was Ben Vellacott who I think is a very handy 9 having a good season at Edinburgh.

Don't see the point. If he is 4th choice and now 3rd due to injury, then he isn't going to play. He's 25 ish, so surely there is someone younger they can bring in as a project player.
Whatever we think of Warr, he's undeniably too slow for top international rugby.

He isn’t going to play … until he is because there’s an injury.

Ben Curry sent back from England camp and replaced by Jack Kenningham

Guess Axe's prediction of him being fully fit for Toulouse/Saints, but kept back from playing, wasn't quite on the money

Sucks that it's on Premier Sport, easily the worst platform/experience they could've gone for
Presuming it's something to do with it being in Ireland and them being the channel for the URC - i'm definitely not paying £17 just to watch this one game

Would've much preferred RugbyPass (also because that's free)

Weren’t the home England A games on Premier Sports last year also?

Just don’t think Sky or TNT are that bothered about England A fixtures given viewership is probably really low no matter what platform it’s on.

Even as a big rugby watcher who also has Premier Sports I barely dip in to watch the A games when they’re on as they’re usually on a weekend with multiple “first team” internationals to watch alongside sorting out my actual life admin and spending time with friends and family.

I guess an unfortunate outcome of having to outbid pay channels to keep it free to air (though, realistically, I imagine they'd have gone down this route regardless)

Is there any other player than Pollock to make super sub this weekend?? I'm all ears if so.
I've gone with Smith on the assumption that he'll potentially kick some goals and could well get a try

My initial thought too, but it's only before one scrum each half. Potentially, the ad could be more interesting than the scrum forming up. :)

Could it be he was too injured to take full part in training but is now fit?

I think I heard England have a standard that you can only be considered for Saturday if you were fully fit on Tuesday. If Roebuck was touch and go, he may have not been fully fully ready on time

Would love to see him starting again, but surely you just put Daly on the wing? Or Daly to 13 and Freeman back on the wing.

Looking at the squad, assuming no issues with IFW, what happens if Dingwall or Freeman goes down mid game? We have no back up centres. Could it be the long anticipated introduction of Freddie 'Jordi Barrett of the north' into the 12 shirt? Or is it Earl covering?

You can still make changes if the game hasn't started yet. It's changed from what it used to be which was deadlines per round - it's now a deadline for each game. I've just swapped Manny for Arundell.

This is veering very OT but at the top of my screen it says the deadline has passed (because the first game has started).

Carpenter was very good for England A
Big shift from Bamber too, especially in the lineout
Raffi pretty good from the bench, some good breaks but a bit rushed in general

Only watched the second half of the U20s but Hogg was noticeable
Shame O.Davies is banned as England's 10 got a straight red and will be missing the next few too!

I thought the red harsh as the knock-on altered the dynamic of the collision. The 10 was quite poor anyway. England passed and handled badly in the first half and the only opportunity they had the 10 kicked the penalty dead.

I thought the 15 was the weaker link. Hogg’s grubber through though was … very un-front 5 :dizzy:
