Evening Sale men and women,
Will be travelling to the AJ Bell for the first time on Sat, I have noticed that it is a fair distance away from the centre, would anybody be as so kind to tell me the best way to get there and back? Staying in a hotel near the Northern Quarter.
Any recommendations for a pre/post match rugby pub would also be helpful!
Many Thanks

Others will give you alternatives, but you could try phoning the Brook (0161 973 7773) and getting on the coach. It's £7 return, and usually leaves for the stadium about 1½ hours before kick-off (check when booking). To get to the pub, you need to take the Altrincham tram to Brooklands station. The Brook literally backs on to the tram station. It takes about 20 minutes from the city centre, but give yourself plenty of time and have a couple of pints there.

Alternatives to the above:-
Bus to the Intu Trafford Centre then free shuttle bus to the ground.
Tram to Eccles interchange then free shuttle bus to ground.
There is a pub , the Barley Farm, a short distance from the ground. It offers dining as well.

Unfortunately the "club" doesn't have a fans' pub as such, the nearest are a couple in Sale itself, the Brook as above and the Little B. Fans from the Stockport area use a pub near to Edgeley Park I believe.

Worth saying that, however you are getting there, the ground is right near the Trafford Centre and it's the last weekend before Christmas. It's going to be very busy so worth aiming to get there earlier than you otherwise would do.

Agree with the Major - the tram to Brooklands and then the Brook supporter bus is a great option. Also probably the closest you'll get to a rugby pub.... this is Manchester... they deal in football only!! But The Brook is most likely to be full of Sale fans (with the football on the telly!).
To add to the other option, if you're going to get the tram to the Eccles bus, the easiest stop to get off at is one before Eccles at Ladywell - from this stop the bus stop is only a 2 minute walk. The free bus here runs at 1:45 and 2:30pm for a 3pm kick off.
All the travel details can be seen on this link, but aside from just getting an Uber from town, the above two are probably your best bets.
