Perish the thought that I might be accused of pedantry, but consider this bit, which I have simply copied while omitting a few bits of punctuation:
........ that can deliver a clear and coherent narrative.
The key principles that have underpinned the work to date are significantly mitigate overlaps between club and country fixtures......

This thread will now go seriously O/T and irritate those who are easily irritated.
I bought a new knife sharpener recently, and a fine instrument it is too. It has three sections, one of which is described on the packaging as :-
"Ceramic grinding tank, smooth surface: eliminate the blade on the Hairy thorn"
So far my best kitchen knives have not been eliminated, but they are sharp.

Someone, somewhere should definately compile a Chinese English to English Dictionary.
