As there is no pressure to avoid relegation and we have a new coaching team I would be happy for them to treat all games as pre season. Really run the rule over the players and bed the new and hopefully improved systems in, in prep for next season.

4 games in 15 days.

So much for player welfare then.

Strongly biased in favour of clubs with more depth in their squads than others.

I’m looking forward to seeing the games, but no good will come of this.

I think in many respects we are better off than a number of clubs who have lost players like Glos, Tigers and possibly LI. Also a number, including us , with new coaching set ups.
In a macbre way it will be interetsing, But the aim apart from completeing the seasons games is to see how it will help with preparation for next season.

Macabre is a good choice of word. Watching the games, and we are yet to be told how many will be live and on what platform, will be a little like watching car crash TV.

But I’m certainly looking forward to it, if not to explaining to Mrs Ted exactly how much rugby will be watched in August.

I'm afraid its all about the (TV) money

Fortunately it does look like they are going to be restricting the number of minutes playing time that players can do.

Agreed it’s all about TV.

And if they are going to restrict players’ game time, then weaker squads are disproportionately disadvantaged, and the risk of throwing newly promoted academy graduates into more exposure than is good for them is increased.

I know it’s not quite the same scenario as today’s unique Covid situation, but remember what happened to Matthew Tait?

Agreed Ted. It's a lot easier for more experienced players to deal with embarrassing confrontations, isn't it? :) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xwHa3bthMaI
