That Quins line up looks like they’re taking the game seriously. I suspect you’ll have a load of Sale, Saints and Irish supporters rooting for you this afternoon, so it would be great if you could put one over them!

For the 2nd game in a row I think I'll just see what the score is and decide whether to watch the replay based on that.

At least the pubs are open, so Saturdays now have a bit more going on...

I usually find things to disagree with Stuart Barnes about but this extract, from the Sunday Times, stings this up to now loyal supporter:-

Harlequins are back in a play-off position after this utterly predictable win against Worcester. Utterly predictable because the Warriors haven’t won a Premiership fixture since an 11-10 victory over then newly promoted London Irish in the opening weekend of the 2020-21 campaign.

This was their 13th defeat in 14 games. Fortunately for Worcester there is to be no relegation this year. Who knows when such a radical idea as performance on the pitch playing a part in sport will be reintroduced to the English professional game?

PRL has used the pandemic to protect its business partners. An admittedly extraordinary crisis is the justification for taking a major step towards a monopolistic league where a theoretical club with the ambition to be the next Exeter rather than Worcester are deprived of opportunity. Worcester have no right NOT to be relegated, or face a legitimate play-off to stay part of the Premiership.

BT will televise Worcester in the early days of the season. The apposite broadcast phrase is ”get them out the way.” Despite some pretty patterns at the Stoop, the Warriors have never made an impression on the Premiership, never qualified for the European Cup, never looked like a club comfortable in the elite. But in the interests of business, they are allowed to tread water.

Wow !! Barnes is a self opinionated tw*t isn't he ?, purely in my own view of course !
I know we are not performing well (*understatement*) but that is pretty disrespectful way (not least to our players) of criticising the PRL's current strategy. Again in my humble view.

Maybe JT could pin the article on dressing room door before the guys go out on the pitch next week. Should get their dander up and provide some much needed motivation

Don't disagree with your first comment but the essence of what he says is not without justification. Security in the Premiership has never been established; the risk of relegation is annual; there have been precious few successes.

Morale amongst the majority of supporters, if this site and "the other place" is anything to go on, is poor and there is no expectation that the team will win another game this season.

What Barnes does not offer is any solution - other than, implicitly, "go away".

We are all looking to the owners for that solution in some hope that they can succeed where, let us be frank, others have failed. But the signs are not good, the reputation of the Club must be at its lowest ever amongst the rugby community (players, agents, press) and, of course, there are no easy, magic remedies that have not been tried already.

I was quite upbeat until 20 minutes in.

Quins 12, Wuss 14, and an easy penalty chance for 3 points. Oh no, we opt for a scrum which we promptly lose to a Quins penalty.

Wonderful. Poor decision, and who knows what effect on our fragile confidence. Even when we’re winning we find an easy way of quickly losing again.

I’ve said it before, and it’s still true. Too many of our players are just not quite good enough.

Although Fidow looked quite good didn’t he.

Ignore Barnes, what he said was only stating the blind bleedin’ obvious. How he said it is just typical of the nasty little man.

Barnes has never forgiven us for sacking his mate Richard Hill.
