This is a tremendous appointment!!

So the Head Coach is not a forwards coach then...

USA: Are you suggesting that there is another appointment to come then? Head Coach to be AS's No 2 and successor? Are you still thinking along Red Rose lines?

I note the continuing reference to the young players.

Very good news. I’ll never forget his reaction after RL kicked the conversion to promote us.

Nice news and interesting to hear he has remained in the County despite being at Briz, so as to keep family settled after his stint with us.

If JT has been any part of how Briz have been since returning to the Prem, then this appointment will be a good swap for Rory, and hopefully allow us to build.

I am indeed. I don't believe JT is the DOR replacement for Solly. Expect that we'll see another still to come onboard, unless the appointment is internal...

Classy behaviour all round. Well done all, and a great appointment. Having someone so young and locally based should complement the experienced and well-travelled Solly.

Could I just add that whatever position JT fulfils it should not be at the expense of Mefin.

They coach completely separate things. Mef does the scrum and JT will do general forwards and lineout.

Totally different roles within the system.
