It won’t, nor should it, change the result - the Referee may not always be right but s/he is never wrong - but it is good that the authorities have acted so quickly. I’m a tad surprised that the Laws needed changing, I would have thought that such a Law was already extant and that all that we needed was a reminder and/or clarification to Referees, but then what do I know?

I've put a ring around 7th Sept on my calender --- I was at a match where the referee gave a free kick for a crooked feed into a scrum. It seems like a loooooooooonnnnnggg time since I've seen one given.

As for the ball going forward as a forward pass, nearly all passes when the players are moving at speed are forward (but aren't !)
