Very good to see and understand the clear rationale behind the decision not to bring games forward and the awarding of points.
Couldn't disagree with much (if any) of their thinking.
However, it seems not all the clubs appreciated the potential full implications of the points award system implemented and are now having second thoughts.
Not only does it potentially affect relegation positions, but also qualification for the play-offs.

A good article.
Yes. Anyone seen the Gloucester version? I couldn’t find it.
Bots of it are in the Gloucestershire live “newspaper”. I must have seen the rest on Twitter this morning

Thanks Gary.
For anyone interested, here’s what Gloucestershire live had to say, including quotes from Gloucester Rugby owner Martin St Quinton.

Essentially it’s another broad hint towards what has probably already been agreed, but not announced.
Quote:-

“However ironically it is not the strength of the financial argument which looks to have finally won the day over ring fencing, but the threat of legal action should a club be relegated this season as a result of the points system awarded for games cancelled due to Covid.
Five Premiership games have been cancelled due to Covid outbreaks so far this season, on each occasion the side which ‘caused’ the game to be cancelled were awarded two match points and the ‘innocent side’ given four.
So far Gloucester have had none of their Premiership games in 2020/21 called off, but find themselves bottom of the league table after six rounds with just six points.
Five of those six points came from the club’s only league win of the season, a 40-24 victory over Wasps, with just one losing bonus point from the other five fixtures.
With 80 match points still up for grabs there is a lot of rugby left to play but news that ring fencing appears to be on the horizon will come as a huge relief to the Gloucester hierarchy and of course the fans with things not clicking just yet under new head coach George Skivington’s reign.
According to The Rugby Paper, who ran the story on the front page of their paper on Sunday, it looks like 13 teams will compete in the Gallagher Premiership in 2021/22, with the Championship winners - who are expected to be Saracens - promoted.
Gloucester Rugby owner and chairman Martin St Quinton confirmed last month discussions as to whether to adopt that system were taking place among the Premiership owners.
He said: “The situation is there are ongoing discussions as to whether the Premiership should be ring fenced at the end of this season and for the long term.
“The current position is there may be no team going down, one team going up, which we assume will be Saracens, but nothing has been agreed.”
