you're correct, Poynters, H it is. A friend, who came from Aberystwyth, when pronouncing the letter H would always say HHHHaitch. If, however, a word started with the letter H he would always leave the H off when he said the word. I did also notice something else odd about Flumpty's post.

(Addendum: I thought I had added earlier American or English Cocker? I prefer Springers, preferably English, not that I'm anti-Welsh, but I don't think I have the energy to cope with one in its prime. Currently have a rather surprising (to just about everyone who sees her) labradoodle. If you think you know what one looks like, you haven't seen ours.)
