Peanlised for rolling away correctly. Who'da thunk it.ejndavid95 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 6:58 pmHow on earth is that a penalty, Cam's out of the way before TT's over it!!
Not sure about that. Largely anonymous again; most of the players were too though.Surbiton_Shark wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 6:57 pmSam James has had a magnificent spell in this second half
Wot 'e said.Van Cannonball wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 7:46 pmI’ll take any win until the Saffers return. We’re more impacted than most teams at the start of the season and will be strong through the 6 nations.
The scrum was pretty good through to 50 mins which is when we’d normally expect a change. Unfortunately we had our 4th choice tight head on the bench and wasn’t trusted, even when Schonert had clearly blown up (he missed the tackle that led to the bath try too). The Worcester board has expressed maybe Sharkey doesn’t have the best conditioning but shouldn’t matter so much if he can do 50 and then bring in Coenie.
7th choice 2nd row didn’t make it on either and after we had to make an early back row change. So some mitigating factors but still a poor 2nd half. Mostly came from the scrum turnaround though so I’m not so concerned.
Akker’s lineout was pretty good. Him and Rodd were dynamic. Cobus was good. The back row definitely lacked impact, but we’re missing 3 outstanding players. Thought Neild had a good game but he and Jono are too alike for a balanced back row.
Wingers I thought were good but Muir is a handful - 2nd half we struggled against the offloads and I thought there were many that edged forward and none given. Hammers was fairly anonymous.
Manu looked in good condition but after the first 20 we didn’t mix the plays enough. Sadly I’m losing patience with RdP. He has so many good attributes but just too many errors. Would’ve liked to have seen Wilkinson on earlier.
We lost this game last season so considering lots we can improve and the players to come back in, I’ll take it! (Although I was highly stressed all 2nd half...)

As usual some decisions I didn't agree with, and I might be right with some of them. My biggest issue was that he still doesn't exactly exude authority, he seems almost apologetic for some decisions. The pace and flow of the game was good in first half, he deserves some credit for that.
Maybe we hadn't notified the reffing group that we wanted to bring on a sub ?FarnhamShark wrote: ↑Sun Sep 19, 2021 8:41 pmRe Ridley - I was amazed that he allowed the restart after our second try when Raffi was still receiving treatment (and eventually going off) deep in the Bath half. Surely he should have checked on him, and waited for the replacement? It meant we were defending the Bath restart a man short.
Had we decided by then?Flumpty wrote: ↑Sun Sep 19, 2021 8:46 pmMaybe we hadn't notified the reffing group that we wanted to bring on a sub ?FarnhamShark wrote: ↑Sun Sep 19, 2021 8:41 pmRe Ridley - I was amazed that he allowed the restart after our second try when Raffi was still receiving treatment (and eventually going off) deep in the Bath half. PRESUMABLY he would have been notified/asked if he could leave the pitch - then as long as he wasn't affecting play, it wouldn't have been an issue.FarnhamShark wrote: ↑Sun Sep 19, 2021 8:51 pmShouldn't the ref have noticed he was still receiving treatment (the injury was 2 or 3 minutes previously) and checked?
Where is that coming from re RDP? It didn’t look great at the time. We could go with Sam James covering 10 with Wilkinson starting but that leaves us short of a goal kicker with no Faf either if Wilkinson goes offOlyy wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 9:08 amHave read that Rob's shoulder is pretty bad - hopefully AJ is back next game (someone said they saw him in the stands this week, so I'm guessing he just didn't play as he got back from America too late?) otherwise we'll need to recall Curtis from Coventry (saw on Twitter he had a good game for them on the weekend)

Someone on social media - not seen any mention of it anywhere else though, so might just be guessing based on how uncomfortable he looked after the knockThekeg wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 10:23 amWhere is that coming from re RDP?Olyy wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 9:08 amHave read that Rob's shoulder is pretty bad - hopefully AJ is back next game (someone said they saw him in the stands this week, so I'm guessing he just didn't play as he got back from America too late?) otherwise we'll need to recall Curtis from Coventry (saw on Twitter he had a good game for them on the weekend)
