Not sure how realistic it is, but if I were Dimes this is what I would put out:

1. Harrison
2. Webber
3. JCW
4. Beaumont
5. DDP
6. Ross
7. Curry
8. JLDP
9. Cliff
10. RDP
11. Ashton
12. Van Cannonball
13. Sam James
14. Ashton
15. Hammersley

16. AVDM
17. Oosthuizen
18. WGJ
19. Phillips
20. Evans
21. Papier
22. Luke James
23. McGuigan (though I really feel Yarde is going to have a big game when he next plays)

Obviously biggest point of contention is DPP in the row, but this gets our best players on the pitch, and lets Phillips have a good 25 mins or so where he doesn't need to worry about blowing out his arse!

Cliff gives more stability with front foot ball, and JCW has looked great so gets the nod over WGJ. Akker to come on after 50 mins to tear it up.

Despite Gloucester's poor showing this prem cup, I don't think it gives any indication of what their first XXIII will be like. Can't wait!

Can’t argue too much with that. I think we might see Philips at lock after we were unable to experiment with JLDP there last week. Meaning JLDP or Ross on the bench. Think we have to play DDP at 8 given his form.

Fingers crossed JLDP and Rohan are fit and ready to go. Having those two fit could make the difference

Have I got this right that this starting XV has 11 EQPs and 5 are academy products? The subs then add another 3 EQPs (is WGJ EQP?).

Leaves us just short of the 15 EQPs per XXIII I believe clubs ae supposed to aim for.

I believe that's correct yes, not sure about WGJ but have a feeling he's not EQP.

Just having a think of what an all EQP 23 would look like:

1. Harrison
2. Webber
3. JCW
4. Beaumont
5. Phillips
6. Curry
7. Curry
8. Ross
9. Cliff
10. Wilkinson
11. Solomona
12. L. James
13. S. James
14. Ashton
15. Hammersley

16. Langdon
17. Rodd
18. Jones(?) accademy so surely EQP
19. Postlethwaite
20. Wilson
21. Warr
22. Redpath
23. Yarde

Not half bad!

To add to that, I think our team that gets the most EQP players in, without sacrificing quality, would be:

1. Harrison
2. Webber
3. JCW
4. Beaumont
5. Phillips
6. Ross
7. Curry
8. DDP
9. Faf
10. AJ
11. Solomona
12. Luke James
13. Sam James
14. Ashton
15. Hammersley

16. Langdon (I rate him v. highly)
17. Oosthuizen
18. Jones
19. Curry
20. Wilson
21. Cliff
22. Redpath
23. Yarde

12/15 starting EQP + 7/8 bench EQP = 19/23 EQP, and that's still a formidable side.

I think yours is more realistic, given we have no idea how the line-out would go with a du Preez in the second row, just putting out what I thought would be our strongest XV on paper, getting our best players on the field.

I'd pick...

Hammersley, Solomona, James, Rohan, Ashton, Du Preez, Cliff
Harrison, Webber, JCW, Beaumont, Phillips, Ross, Curry, DDP
Reps - Akker, Ooisthuizen, John, Evans, JLDP, Papier, Redpath, McGuigan

I think having a starting side with a lot of familiarity and only a few new names is the best approach, the likes of Akker and JLDP can come on with 20-30 left and add a massive impact in the forwards, with Papier coming on to target the fringes. Can't wait for the weekend!

Is there any way of watching the game live on TV? It's not scheduled for BT Sport and I would normally swap to the tiny screen on Bet365, however, they are not marking it as a game that can be watched live.

It seems mad that not all Prem games are on TV, when you think about the amount of football that gets aired I just don't understand how so little rugby makes it to live broadcast...

Has Sale ever had such a strong squad to select from - and even stronger when the 6 RWC players return.

Must be up there with the strength of the Prem winning squad.

Definitely can’t remember a pack anywhere near as strong.

Interesting that Dimes has said Rohan had a slight pull, seems more likely than not playing due to weight?
