Interesting how they rate this.

Waisea Nayacalevu:

Toulon to Sale Sharks

The Sharks needed a big-name signing in the centres to cover for the loss of Manu Tuilagi, and the explosive Fiji captain will certainly provide that. A menacing runner will be looking to punch holes in Premiership defences from the first whistle.

Nic Dolly rumoured to be leaving Tigers

Had a real torrid time with injuries - would we look his way if Creevy is leaving?
Fit and on form he's a very good player, it's just getting him there that seems to be the issue

EQP and academy credit would make the deal sweeter on our end

Exeter Chiefs supposedly have Hunter Paisami secured for next season. One hell of a player!

That's 2 prime centres moving clubs, yet we lose Manu and SJ (potentially Doherty) and can only muster a 33 year old who has hardly played this season. (Deliberately playing devils advocate as I do rate Naya).

Don't believe that this is a done deal yet. Although only T's to cross and I's to dot.

“ Harry Williams, 32, has started seven of his 12 appearances for Montpellier but could become the victim of an end-of-season clear-out after they slipped to 13th, five points behind Bayonne with President Mohed Altrad looking to make huge changes.

Sale Sharks, Saracens and the Scarlets are all looking for a tight head for next season”

My new Sam James guess is San Diego Legion in the MLR (based solely on him going to San Diego during our off week)
Good shout! They're top of ProD2 at the moment, as well, so gotta imagine they'll be recruiting if they're promoted

I still think the additional signed-but-not-announced centre(/back, as axe described them in his latest media day) is going to be Addison, but noticed Devoto is leaving Chiefs at the end of the season - always been a big fan of his

Centres for next season are Bedlow, RMW, Naya and Rob. 2 12's, 2 13's. Throw Curtis into the mix as well, perhaps Luke James as well and Doherty (if he stays). I'd argue we don't need another centre given none of ours will be dragged away for internationals.

If someone is indeed coming I'd take Addison over Devoto as he can cover more than just centre. Maybe that's why Axe has described the signing as a 'back'.

Yeah I did think it was odd when Axe said we had two centres coming in

From Kieran Crichard's latest article

POSSIBILITY OF KEEPING HYRON ANDREWS ON
“It is something we are looking into. Right now we are in negotiations. The cap is such a moving jigsaw puzzle. There may be some injury dispensation money for one of our lads who had an heart operation this year so we are seeing if it fits and if it’s enough for him (Hyron).”
Think he came into his own vs Tigers and would be happy to keep him on if we're able

Bit concerning about someone having a heart operation - who would/could that be? Alex Groves not been involved for a while, not sure if he's been playing for Sale FC but don't think he featured in our later Prem Cup games, which you'd have expected him to

Also Sam hasn't signed anywhere yet, so they're still trying to convince him to stay haha
SAM JAMES
“He was good on Friday night wasn’t he? Simon Orange was down at training today and he mentioned it (trying to convince Sam to stay) again. We have been back to him two or three times. We needed to move and make sure we had enough players in each position. He was adamant he wanted this adventure and wanted to go. He has had a few offers that will enable him to do that, to go and experience rugby in a different country. I will bend his ear at our end-of-season do to see if I can persuade him to stay. He is really talented at everything. He is the heartbeat of this place and will always be welcome back.”

Very positive news on both! Heart condition not so much.... Groves looks likely given his lack of involvement which is a shame.

Re Andrews, as long as he doesn't prevent our own player development I wouldn't mind, but we have of course signed Le Roux Roets, a man who has only played 129 minutes of rugby this season.... He's 29 years old and has started around 9 games in the last 5 years. If Andrews goes well vs Sarries I'd be exploring dropping Le Roux and keeping Hyron for sure.

Newcastle have released George Wacokecoke, 28 years old, plays centre and wing and is English qualified. Could be an option to provide some backline back up without breaking the bank. I always thought he was fairly handy so surprised he's been released.

Addison has signed for next season- it was announced at the SC event this week
I expect we'll get an announcement soon then

Looks like he's also now EQP again as well (or will be this year) which helps.
I've got him a welcome back home gift

Roebuck was terrible for slipping over last season, if we can get Will a pair of whatever boots Tom is wearing this season then he'll be grand

I was wondering about the EQP status - is it automatic as soon as he's done the stand down period, or does he have to declare for England with World Rugby before it counts?
Weird situation cause he's English but the paperwork will say he's a capped Irish international - bet they never really considered this possibility when they put the EQP rules into place

Having him coming in as EQP and academy credit will be a boost, though

Bit of internet sleuthing leads me to believe a player just needs to fill in a form - and returning from a club in another union is specifically highlighted as a time when such an application needs to be made.
